Call to Action: Farmers' rights affect us, as we eat what they grow for us. While we enjoy lower price tags in the supermarkets, workers starting as young as ten sacrifice hours under the sun. Learning about the different activists that have advocated for their rights is a good start. Then, support local organizations and help fight for better laws that protect them.
Bio.
I am a dancer, choreographer, and Mexican immigrant to this country. I like to highlight the human experience through movement and mixed media. This piece is about all the farmworkers who are still underpaid or taken advantage of due to their citizenship status. My family members worked in the fields before going to school or finding better jobs. This piece celebrates their hard work among the thousands of other people who bring food to our table.
